Dr Brian Jennings Biography
I have served as lecturer, specialising in ethics, at Ghana Christian University College, Accra since 1989 and as Quality Coordinator for the College from 2007 to 2017. I hold PhD in Moral Theology (University of Birmingham, 2007), an MA in Education (University of Derby, 2010) and a Certificate in Solution-Focused Practice (Birmingham Change, Brief Therapy , 2014). I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), a Reviewed Practitioner to for Solution Focus in Organisations (SFiO). I I served as an Academic Auditor for the National Accreditation Board (Ghana) from 2012 until 2019. In 2015 I was appointed as a Consulting Tutor with the Association of Commonwealth Universities on the University Administrative Practice programme, since when I have facilitated two workshops using solution focused approaches in 2015 and 2017. I have given presentation on the programme at the Association of Commonwealth Universities Conference of University Leaders (Accra) July 2016 on “In the Middle of Things! The development of the ACU Certificate in University Administrative Practice” and in the ACU HR in HE Community Conference, University of Waterloo, Canada, September 2018 “The Future in the Middle”. My current interest is in the use of reflective and practice-based learning in applied character ethics.
I am married to Comfort Adjahoe-Jennings, a social entrepreneur, who supports rural communities through the production and marketing of local crafts and Shea butter cosmetics through her company Ele Agbe Company Ltd.
